Art Standards

| An art education will help students discover ways to shape their thoughts and feelings by means of communication and visual imagery. The arts enriches and contributes to a child's development and quality of life. It is a way for students to think creatively. In taking art courses students will learn the language and gain a better understanding and appreciation of the arts. Through their studies and practice students will also acquire a universal and cultural awareness.
All of the MVHS art courses incorporate the California State Board of Education Standards. To ensure that students are receiving a highly qualified and comprehensive arts education, art teachers follow the VISUAL ARTS STATE STANDARDS with in their course curriculum.
