Community Service

Community Service is a graduation requirement for all MVHS students. The number of hours required depends on your graduating class—see your counselor for details.

✅ All service hours must be completed through an approved non-profit organization.


For Organizations Seeking Volunteers
If your organization would like to offer community service opportunities to MVHS students, please email Mrs. Finch at CLFinch@murrieta.k12.ca.us.

When submitting your request, please include:

  • Your contact information
  • A flyer and/or brief summary with event details (logistics and volunteer duties)
  • A link to volunteer sign-ups

⚠️ Students may only earn community service hours with non-profit organizations. Once approved, your event will be advertised on our website.

Volunteer Opportunities for Teens | American Red Cross  


 

All volunteers must be 14 years of age or older. Volunteers under the age of 16 must have a parent or guardian complete the process of becoming a volunteer with them and must accompany them while volunteering.Please complete our online application, online orientation, watch our virtual shelter tour, and fill out all applicable forms before coming to pick up your Volunteer T-shirt.AFV volunteer t-shirts must be worn while volunteering for AFV. T-shirts can be purchased Monday through Friday between 8:00pm and 4:00pm for $15 each.


Animal Rescue Kompany (A.R.K.)
 
The Animal Rescue Kompany, also known as A.R.K., needs volunteers at their pet adoption events every Saturday and Sunday at the Murrieta Petsmart.  Pick up an A.R.K. information flyer in the counseling office if you are interested or call Megan Juric, the volunteer coordinator, at 951/240-8758 or email meganofark@gmail.com.  Website link - Animal Rescue Kompany (ARK)

Santa Rosa Plateau "Team Stream"
 
High school students can earn community service hours at the Santa Rosa Plateau Eco Reserve through Team Stream.  This organization, run by the Reserve Manager, Carole Bell meets alternating Saturdays, 8 am – noon.  Contact Carole Bell at cbell@tnc.orgfor details.
